Thursday 27 May 2010: VISITATION
Today, after work, I had a visitation from MsGable. She had finished work for two whole weeks and is due, on Saturday, to head for a fornight of bliss in bonny Scotland.
She was very eager to show me her wonderful new camera and I am afraid to say that there seemed to be more buttons and bells on it than I think I could cope with. However, I am sure that MsGable will master it's technicalities (or die whilst trying) through snapping all and everything that moves (or stands still) in Scotland.
While MsGable was at my house I showed her the Broom plant that I took a blip of yesterday. She instantly understood why I hadn't been able to get closer and discover whether it smells of coconut - strangely enough she wasn't willing to risk life and limb on the VERY steep slope to find out either.
Still on the theme of plants the above pictured orchid is the gift, for me, that MsGable brought with her. Isn't it beautiful? I am not sure that I took the best shot of it though (I did try several settings before deciding that this one was the best of the bunch). I just hope that my usual lack of success with plants doesn't prevail. I shall have to try my hardest to keep up with the Jones' as both my sister and MsGable seem to have a knack with orchids.
By the way - it doesn't smell of coconut.
