Thursday 27 May 2010: A good day

This afternoon was an employee recognition event held at our culinary school. Several people received their years of service awards. There were some fun awards given by co-workers as well. It was a nice event.

At the end of the event, I was approached by a co-worker from one of our other campuses. She was just back from a vacation and explained she tried to turn in an award for me, but she turned it in too late to be included in the program. The award was for "Facebook Queen & Webmaster Supreme" (hope I got that right, it's at work)! She had a really lovely write-up that she read to me. I was touched that she had gone to the trouble to write that. I think it means a whole lot more to me than if it had been presented in front of all the other employees.

After work I ran out to Cape Arago to look for a blip. I ran into a friend and her hubby who also had their cameras out. I enjoyed a great visit with them. There were whales out there too! A little too far out for my camera lens, but it was really great to see.

This photo was taken at my favorite state park at Shore Acres. I've taken a lot of shots out there. Everything this evening was really calm and just beautiful.
