Saturday 29 May 2010: King of the hill

Today was another beautiful day on the Oregon Coast. Sunny and fairly warm. Tourist were all over the place for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

I did some work around my home while hubby did some geocaching in the morning. Later, we took a drive along the Catching Slough. Still on the go, hubby went kayaking with some friends and I ran out to Charleston Boat Basin to look for sea lions.

I found this guy on the "F" Dock just being lazy in the early evening sunshine. I was mindful of them being wild so I kept my distance. He watched my every move. I freaked out when a larger sea lion suddenly came up out of the water and fought with this guy for the spot. It was only a few seconds and this guy gave up and dove in the water.

This shot is of the second, larger sea lion boasting that he now was king of the hill!

Looks best in large.

Thanks for stopping by.
