I have to say this is a bit rubbish but I thought it would be a challenge.

A display item in a jewellers. Its very shiny metallic and is lit with some extremely bright spotlights mainly from above.

The human eye is a wonderful intrument and is able to handle wide differences in light intensity.

The camera isn't quite so clever. If you take an indoor photograph of a room with an bright open window, you may get the room properly exposed but the window is too bright, or the window looks right but the room too dark. Eyes don't have that problem, they can interpret everything and see it properly exposed. Our eyes compensate for extreme differences in light but the camera cannot.

So the challenge was to get something decent from a SINGLE exposure. It isn't very good but I guess I expected that!
