CATCH AND RELEASE

Part of our reason to journey to Montana was to fly fish the Blackfoot River of Norman Maclean's 'A River Runs Through It' fame!

However that did not happen. Al and I were told that the Blackfoot had "busted out"! This meant the river was silted from snow melt and un-fishable for a couple of weeks.

Instead it was suggested we head east through Lincoln over the continental divide then take Route 434 south ( an amazing bike ride incidentally ) to Wolf Creek on I-15 We continued to head east towards Cascade.

And so today we floated down 20 mies of the upper reaches of the Missouri and fly fished for trout.

This 4ib beauty was caught by a delighted Al and returned immediately unharmed to it's river!
