Thursday 3 June 2010: THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM
The above photograph was taken in the grounds of the building where I work. The groundsman is very proud of his handywork and, in my opinion, rightly so. This view is normally obscured by a row of cars but when I got to work this morning (very early) there were hardly any cars there and the view was unimpeded.
I sat for a few minutes savouring the scene and listening to the very pleasant songs of the birds in the vicinity.
However I had gone to work early in order to get a few things out of the way before all hell broke loose and so I tore myself away from the tranquility of the sun shining, brightly, on the trees and the lilac bush and entered the hallowed portals whilst steeling myself for the day ahead.
