First Frost

Of all the days to have the first frost, it was the day husband had to get damaged knee to surgeon before 7am for repair. It was seriously cold out there in the dark. It also gave me a free time period between drop off and school getting up time, to take a frost photo, so it cant all be bad!
Ice crystals look quite cool enlarged. It is hard to give the scale but this is buxus hedging and each leaf would be smaller than a fingernail.

Off to Auckland to do a lightroom course tonight, with John Doogan. If anyone is interested he has a wonderful set of work to peruse on his website http://www.landscapephoto.co.nz/ which frankly makes my photos decidedly mediocre. Still - thats why I will go on the course and try and absorb, inhale, ingest whatever is possible from him in a short time frame available. It is essentially about lightroom but whatever it is there is sure to be plenty to see and observe of his photos along the way.
Long weekend here in NZ so that is always a bonus.
