Friday 28 May 2010: face to face
For some reason, there have been armadillos all over the place this time at Lake K. campground. We've been seeing all sizes, all times of day- and we usually don't see any until evening, and not very many.
On a walk with the dogs in the woods, we came upon 3 baby ones snuffling about. This one kept coming closer to Maia, and it was just about at this moment that it realized someone else was there. Then it took off, and all 3 ran into the bushes for a minute, then came right back out again. You can tell it's small, because Maia only weighs a little over 10 pounds.
