Wednesday 9 June 2010: Rainy market day
Umbrellas at the charcuterie stall.
When I'm working, as I am this week, I look forward to taking a mid-morning break on Wednesdays to go to the market, but it wasn't so much fun today in the rain. The clothes and household linen stalls were packing up before 11 a.m., knowing that no one would come out in the rain (people don't here). The vegetable stallholder told us it will be his last visit till September as in summer he goes to the more lucrative market in Cap d'Agde, a seaside holiday resort. That's OK for us because we'll have plenty of vegetables in the garden, but it all made it a rather subdued market day.
