Saturday 15 September 2007: Back on dry land

A considerable ocean swell woke Layla and I at two a.m., then kept us in some strange place between sleep and consciousness for the rest of the night. (Bella slept like the proverbial log, as usual.) It's now ten-thirty p.m. I think the bad moods have worn off but every time I stand up I still feel like I'm on a boat.

One more day's recuperation, then back to the grind stone.

Before I forget, here's my list of Things We Noticed About Mainland Europe Which Are Different From Back Home:

1. Kids don't wear cool clothes, which is very cool.

2. There are considerably more unhealthy snack outlets, but considerably less fat people.

3. Speed limits on motorways are generally higher (or non-existent) but you get the same number of people driving like twats.

4. TV is truly, truly awful.

5. C&A is alive and well.
