Wednesday 16 June 2010: Experimenting
There was sun through out the day, but by the time I could find time to look for a blip, it was nearly sunset. Except, by then there was no sun. The thick, low clouds rolled in. I decided to go down to the bay and take a look.
I'd been trying to find the right lighting and wave action to practice creating the long exposure technique that makes the water look smooth and silky. If I can do it on waterfalls, I should be able to do it the ocean waves.
This shot is the best one of the day. I think it's pretty boring and not the best composition. I tried it in B&W and hated it more. The only thing I'm pleased with is that I was able to flatten out the water with a little persistence. I can't wait to experiment again with the right conditions.
Here's a good short video of how it's done.
Thanks for stopping by.
