The Pensioner

All alone

So, paddled Lawrie ashore and walked him up to the station. I was a bit nervous paddling myself back but it was fine despite the gusty wind. Later, went and bought some victuals and fresh fruit to guard against scurvy and picked up a second hand book to ward off boredom. The wind dropped, the sun came out, and John on the neighbouring boat invited me to paddle over for a beer.
The main worry I had was about the mooring I was on and whether anyone would turn up wanting to use it. I asked about the place. Nobody knew. I decided to make that my No1 activity in the morning, and maybe I'd get some peace. Anyway, it was a fine sunset.
