Life with The Pinks

hoopdy de doo

hoopdy dee doo it's a wonderful day......well it was until about 9pm.

We took Master Pink to see The Wiggles in London Town today. It was the first time Master Pink had been on a train for such a long trip, and the first time he had been to London. We went past Mr pink's office so Master Pink could see where Daddy works. Then onto the underground for some slidey door bleepy noises wooshy train action. All of which Master Pink loved. I rather loved his translations of the tannoy announcements, and the fact that he got people smiling on a tube - something I have never seen even when I commuted every day!

We had lunch at the "Golden Arches" - mummy really should do her homework better for "nice" places to go for food!!! And then for the biggest higlight of the day The Wiggles concert.

14 years ago, me and Mr Pink rather liked going to concerts, ggs, performances, anything like that. It's just that it was usually britpop or indie or something leaning towards grungey. These days, we go to the Hammersmith Apollo to watch four Austrailian men sing songs about hot potatoes, dinosaurs called Dorothy and yellow birds. But we had a BRILLIANT time. Master Pink was a little starstruck to start with, his TV heroes were in front of him, one even came within hand-shaking distance, But when they sang "hoopdee doo" we got up and danced in the aisle. From there on, Master Pink was bopping away with all the other pre-schoolers for the rest of the concert!

The train trip home was as exciting as the journey in (for Master Pink). We had a train picnic of M&S goodies, and talked about our favourite bits of the concert.

After we were all home safely and were wiggled out, I went to my friends to celebrate her 40th with her. But this is when the day went down hill.....while everyone else was saying how warm and pleasant it was, and how lovely to be outside in the evening, I sat shiverring under two cardies .....until I gave in or the goosebumps got the better of me and went home to snuggle up in my duvet.
