Sunlit Toi Toi

Driving past my old airfield I noticed the golden light of these plants just waving in the breeze. They are so much a New Zealand plant that you cant go by without admiring them. They are great for kids, as you can break off big long sticks to carry them with and wave them about like flags, fairy wands, or weapons for sword fights. Most Kiwi kids have been in heaps of trouble for failing to part with them at the car or house door, as they shed the delicate fronds just everywhere in the slightest provocation, which is of course most of their charm.
Take a bit of vacuuming up...
