Saving Fish

I dragged my sorry butt out of the house today, so as to prevent Stir-Crazy Syndrome, and headed to Barnes & Noble, where I bought Amy Tan's "Saving Fish From Drowning," and Lisa See's "On Gold Mountain."

Asian culture fascinates me. My dream is to visit Japan and China one day (in the not-so-far-future); till then, I'll have to be content to visit mentally through books, articles, television and film.

Has anyone had the fortune to spend time there already?
