Sunday 25 July 2010: Division of the spoils
After yesterday's jam fest, it was up to me to divide up the pots this morning. A friend and I have a now annual tradition of taking our children berry picking, then having a day making jam. Yesterday we made 19 pots of strawberry and 21 pots of raspberry.
In previous years we've gone crazy with the berry picking and ended up sick of the sight of jam (96 jars total production that year!), so this year we were much more restrained.
Now that we've finished, we're on the lookout for some cheap peaches or nectarines so that we have different kinds of jam in the store cupboard.
