Sunday 8 August 2010: Textures of Time
Artefacts - Salvage & Design is a business in St. Jacobs, Ontario and is a favourite place to visit. It is full of bits and pieces of salvaged buildings. Marble cornices, cornerstones, bricks, gargoyles, iron fences, barn beams, moldings, doors, window frames, fireplace mantles, knobs, hinges, floor grates, tin ceiling sections, banister bits, stained glass windows, and more. All from demolished homes, businesses, barns, sheds, coops, churches, you name it. Great way to re-purpose old things to new uses. This picture is from the side facing the street. I visited it with my wife, my cousin from California, and her husband who were up for a visit.
