166/365: Maddy, August 2010
Really not at all sure with this image. Wanted a beat up kinda look to it, but think I went too far! I liked the movement in Maddy's hair and skirt and the darkness of the wood behind her... but... it's kind of not representative of the lovely walk we had together first thing this morning!
Oh, dither, dither!
Anyway, another busy holiday day. I can't seem to stop waking up early, so I was up and had made dinner and had my breakfast by the time Maddy surface at around 7 and asked if we could go for a 'girlie walk'. Which basically means that Maddy wants to spend some time alone with me and I love our quiet moments together, so off we went to the woods for a walk. And it was gorgeous out. Sparkly light through the trees making dappled patches of gold in the darkness of the woods. Just lovely. And all the blackberries are out too so tomorrow morning we'll go blackberrying first thing and then I might make some jam later on in the day. Yum!
After that, a quick trip to the DIY place to pick up some pots and plants (think I may be a plantaholic) and then home for gardening and lunchifying. Spent most of the afternoon pottering about, doing the garden, watching the kids playing (why our sofas always have to get turned into a house - castle - mountain - shop - circus - mess, I don't know! I'm sure the sofa quakes with fear when the children appear with *that* look in their eyes!) and making a fruit salad for dessert. I think that as well as being a professional 'person on holiday', I might also have a career as a 'professional potterer' too. Wonder what the pay's like?
Oh - and I also got my portfolio passed for my professional certification thingy which is a big fat yay! Had zero support from work in doing it so the relief at having passed is huge. Amazing what a bit of blundering about in the dark can do.
Right - time to get the monkeys into bed. Am hoping that Felix has forgotten that I said I'd spend the night in the tent with him yesterday...
