L'eglise de Sainte Foy

In the village of Conques clinging high to the sides of the lower area of the Massif Centrale, we stopped at this church and walked the twisted lanes. The pilgrims on their way to Saint Jacques de Compestelle came to this village in the 1200's, a fairly significant detour on their way to Galicia, Spain, to pay homage to Sainte Foy. We drove through a goodly section of the Massif Central, spending one night along the way. It deserves way more time and exploring as small villages are everywhere, with enticing hikes in the high mountains, castles and so much more. Very hard to select one photo from this day!
