The Pensioner

Down the Hill

Cycled out to see the maw who was in fine spirits despite the news that she'll need to get her cataracts removed if she wants to continue driving. She's up for it. The idea of stopping driving seems to equate with the end of life in her opinion (understandable for an independently minded girl who started driving during WW2).
On the way back (after negotiating nettle strewn tracks, above) I stopped off at Russell's bungalow as he was having his annual pizza festival. Despite being a total Hearts nutter (total ... total) he's got some real Italian family connections and his pizza expertise and the bar with range of optics in his garden shed would win over any thirsty cyclist.
I was won over.
