Monday 22 October 2007: The questions of a cyclist
Whose bright idea was it to force bicycles, buses and taxis into the same road space?
Is the road surface for the green lane really made from recycled green glass?
Why do such a frighteningly high proportion of car drivers have absolutely no consideration for people on bikes?
Why do I draw so much satisfaction from shaking my head at people in motorised vehicles when they misbehave?
Why would a plook-ridden teenager think it's stylish to wear his baseball cap at a 45º angle?
Why did he think it a good idea to chuck a heavy object at my head while I'm stopped at a red light?
Why did his ten mates all have their hands down the front of their tracksuit bottoms?
Are they trying to squeeze even more testosterone into their bloodstreams?
How tough would he feel without his ten mates?
How old was I when I started stopping at red lights on my bike?
Is our planet really worth saving?
