Metamorphosis
Barcelona is changing as I write; after its languid summer lull, the city is suddenly full of cars, open shops, men and women in office clothes and cafe tables set out ready for the homeward-bound merienda crowd. It's slightly dislocating to observe, especially as the temperature has fallen sharply and the sky has become overcast. Where has my summer city gone? What has become of it? But that's what the date change from 31st August to 1st September always brings, and it is invigorating to feel the city recover its pulse.
This facade is also metamorphosing, albeit less rapidly, from its once well kept state to something altogether more organic. It looks on its way out but having seen a few of these bought up and restored there will probaby be another metamorphosis to something much more akin to the original just around the corner, if you'll excuse the pun. Until then, I thought I would share it with you.
