Headed off to York this morning on the train......1st class of course (free tickets).

What a cracking breakfast you can get on the train these days - costs though....but worth it.

Had a walk round the Minster - as one must.

What a fantastic building it is. It is awe inspiring now so when it was built in the first few years of the 1300s it must have been unbelievable for its scale and grandure.

Needless to say I took dozens of pictures - none with a tripod - and there are loads better than this but I liked the optical illuson that it bends in at the top (much like the roof).

It is a long way up and the lens (for the technical minded) was a 70-300mm set at 220mm, f4.5 for 1/8th sec
