Saturday 11 September 2010: Blipbabies
We were invited to this gorgeous thing's naming ceremony today. (She'll probably hate the name 'Baby 42' throughout her teenage years but undoubtedly grow to love it in later life, particularly if she decides to enter the music industry.)
Great to see so many other blip babies and their parents too (although I realised that, just like their parents, I find it impossible to get their blip names out of my head and their real ones in). Bella took this shot of the particularly chatty Baby Monochrome, while he engaged me in enthralling conversation:
"Aaaaaaaa."
"Aaaaa."
"Aaaaaaaaaaaa."
"Aaaaaaa."
I think he was asking me to convert him to monochrome prior to upload.
I stripped off in the street after the gig and donned my Lycra pants to cycle home, realising only when it was too late that I was doing so right in front of some poor lady's kitchen window as she cleaned her dishes. Made it home in 40 minutes (it took 30 to drive there), average speed 19.4 mph, top speed 39.something (while going through Broxburn which I guess technically I could get points on my licence for).
Speaking of cycling, 42 and I are going to tear up a mountain soon. Watch this space.
