Senses

E has been learning about the five senses at preschool. So tonight, we made up a little game where we took turns filling a lunch sack with random objects and then had one of us guess the contents using all of our senses except sight. It was really cute, watching how delighted the kids were with this simple game. My favorite conversation took place when E was blindfolded and exploring a Crayola marker. I said, "What does it smell like?" and E answered, "Nothing." "What does it taste like?" "Nothing." "What does it feel like?" "Plastic." "What does it sound like?" E held it up to his ear, listening intently and then wisely inquired, "What do you think it sounds like?" Here is E listening to Grandad's guesses.
