Inner Peace
This is a bench on a headland just above the tiny west coast harbour of Plockton. It overlooks the end of Loch Carron as it meets the Inner Sound which seperates central Skye from the Applecross Peninsula on the mainland. It is a scramble to get up to this viewpoint, but well worth it. The views are stunning and with the dramatic weather we had on the trip every vista had something new to see.
This day was a long one. As well as Plockton we also drove around to Glenelg and Corran by the shores of Loch Hourn. We had great views from the Mam Ratagan to the Five Sisters of Kintail. From here we went north to Plockton and then continued in that direction, driving over the Pass of the Cattle and down into Applecross. In stunning evening light we followed the coast road up and around to Torridon where a fiery sunset caught the lower slopes of Liathach. Later a huge thunder storm rumbled in and after the sunshine of the day we had a dark and rainy night.
