Tracey Emin

Commissioned in 2005 by the BBC, this little bird caused a bit of a row because it cost £60,000 and yet its very small - the size of a sparrow.

It made the news in 2008 when it was stolen and then returned a few days later.

Not been able to get close to it before because its behind the railings at the Oratory at the Anglican Cathedral, but for the time being, whilst Laura Belem's Temple of 1,000 Bells is on show, its now accessible. Probably should have used a longer lens.

I rather like it. Its a sort of anti-sculpture. According to Tracey Emin, most public art sculptures are about power. This is about spirituality and was deliberately designed to disappear into the background, meaning that you have to go and search it out.
