Saturday 25 September 2010: A Current Memory

When I was small,

My amazing Mother used to amaze me with her ability to create with her hands.

actually, that statement is wrong,

when I was small she still does

One memory sticks in my mind...

One year she asked what I would like for a birthday cake,

I announced "a space rocket",

she looked puzzled, and asked me to draw what I was thinking...

a short while later, I returned, a little demoralised

what I had drawn, looked nothing like what I had hoped

all I had was a shaky looking, tube shaped rocket.

yet, two days later,

my amazing Mum

smiled as she amazed me once again

a fully iced, shuttle shaped, cake emerged.

it was unforgettable

So this year, S1 asked me a similar question,

what would I like...

for your 30th...

and I announced

I'd like to learn the magic my Mum had.

S1 simply replied,

"Ok,

what do we need?"

she's good like that.
