Wednesday 6 December 2006: Best Christmas gift ever.....
My daughter has made my Christmas gift every year since she was very small. Little things, then bigger things as she got older.
She made this wooden egg when she was about 13. She took the raw wood, hand carved it, turned it, then spent a month sanding and polishing until it was smooth and perfect. All in all it took about three months to make and was my most treasured possession.
This year she's not had the time to make anything - but she's gone even further and produced a beautiful granddaughter. Even better than the egg.
