Looks Good To Me

Not Typically Portland

When we went to IKEA last Friday, the mirror that C wanted was sold out, so we went back this morning, just in time to have breakfast before buying the mirror.

It was so hot by noon that we decided to go somewhere with air conditioning, and chose the World Forestry Center. It's next to the zoo and a large wooded park with miles of trails. I was a bit disappointed with the exhibits, probably because I already knew a lot of the information that was being presented. C enjoyed it and thought it would be a good place for a family with children.

We asked Sylvia to lead us back to our condo without using the freeways. She gave us a scenic tour of a beautiful hilly residential area. There were no vacant parking spaces on our street so we had to park elsewhere, near these colorful houses.

We walked to the Deschutes brewpub again and got there in time for happy hour. It was much quieter and we enjoyed a light meal with the same beers we had on the previous visit. After some interesting conversation with a couple of visitors from Ohio we left, as the noise level was approaching painful.

Tomorrow is our last full day here. Maybe we'll finally get out early, while it's cool.

Edit: Here are some photos of the condo we rented.
