Tuesday 6 November 2007: tracing a mystery

what: altering photocopy exercise no. 1 - blender transfer on tracing paper
mood: funnie you should ask...

Monday 1 October 2007 : its bark is worse than its bite

The photocopy, with stark blacks and whites and minimal greys, conveys a strong and poignant sense of intimacy and privacy. Once transfered over on to tracing paper with a blender pen, the image takes on subtler tones.

A thin layer of mystery now seems to be laid on top, as if the tree's branches suddenly found itself tangled a mist's trace edges. It is now in a more transient and shape-shifting state, perhaps capable of disappearing altogether. The mood conveyed is one of reverence enshrouded in secrecy.
