I think, almost without exception.
I only put a full stop there because it made such a good sentence. Hang on, I'll start again.
I think, almost without exception, every time I've been photographing the interior of a certain well-known department store, my impressive-looking camera and I have been approached by a different elderly gentleman desperate to escape the clutches of his shopping wife and talk photography.
I think I'll photograph them all from now on, starting with Bill. He was in the RAF, spent time in Yemen and speaks fluent Arabic. He spent much of his working life using a plate camera at the University of Edinburgh, but is now retired and has been to Egypt twice this year.
I gave him a Blipcard and encouraged him to sign up. We'll see...
