Death of a Mighty Oak......

This is not for the tree huggers within Blip.

We are at this moment in the process of tree removal at the works, clearing the trees to make way for a new win of Clay, our raw material to make bricks.
We have taken down about 1//2 a Hectare of old trees, not ancient woodland but scrub and dying trees.
Most of the larger Oak and other hardwoods will be used usefully in Furniture and other, timber products.
The top soil will be used in the restoration of some part of the quarry.

To offset the 100 or so trees we are removing we are planting some 1000 new saplings all around the quarry area, for the next generation of brick makers to walk around in some 20 or 30 years time.
