Wednesday 13 October 2010: Air Dog
This is an found-art installation in the Accolade East Building (ACE) at York University in Toronto. It perches above a stairwell and can be seen in context here. It is about 2 metres tall. Angus, apparently, is Prof. Davey's dog who brings home a seemingly endless supply of stray balls...so, an art piece was born. Read more here and in YorkU magazine (page 4) with a photo of the real terrier that inspired it.
The plaque beneath it reads:
Michael Davey,
Daniel O'Connor
and Angus
"Air Dog", 2004
3000 found balls,
steel armature
