Monday 18 October 2010: Pink Lichen
Spent a refreshing couple of hours at Orokonui ecosanctury this afternoon where this image was taken. Only my second visit to this wonderful place.
Family from Scotland were with me and as we started our meander along the pathways leading through podcarp forest we were washed by snow and hail. The sun then provided us with spectacular light displays through forest canopy and flickered across ruddy Kaka breasts whilst we journeyed on. Just returned to the starting point when the heavens opened again and pelted us with hail stones.
Such hilarity and exhilaration I have not had in a long time. Recommend the experience to any one......
Coffee and hummingbird cake in Port Chalmers completed a totally satisfying afternoon
