Paid to catch dinner...

Well it's better than doing real work.

It's between 18 and 40 metres (!) deep below where the ship is moored up, and the Filipino guys on the marine crew were already well away with the crab pots already (getting a very large lobster on the first go).

So out with the fishing rods and quite a shock when the first fish was an enormous pollack - about as big as they get close to shore back in the UK. What really underlines the difference between Norway fish stocks and back home was that the first one was followed by four more monsters in almost as many casts.

Then I had something smaller on the end, resulting in this lovely reddish cod from close to the seabed, not as big as the others but a welcome addition to the dinner table...
