Snow Shoes

Last night saw the first proper snowfall settle on the Ochil Hills for this winter (OK, it's not officially winter 'til the clocks go back next weekend but there you go).

Ben Cleuch's the tallest in the range at 2365ft so generally is the first covered and the last cleared. This last winter there was still snow up there into May giving us just four months free of the stuff.

Still not sure what the story is behind these shoes either. I blipped them first way back in July and since then they've multiplied into a fair collection. I don't know why nobody's been along to remove them, unless they are some sort of budget public art installation after all.

Blipping late today as we all headed off on a quest for the Holy Grail in Edinburgh earlier. I'm not normally one for musicals - sorry, that should read I normally avoid musicals as much as Andrew Lloyd Webber avoids beauty cream - but Monty Python's Spamalot didn't spoil one of my all time favourite films. There were genuine tears rolling down cheek moments and it was great we could enjoy it all together.

If it's sunny tomorrow I think a visit to nearby Doune Castle (the castle used for much of the filming in The Holy Grail) might be on the cards for some knights of the round table coconut action.
