Hot & Cold

I've spent much of the past week with 12 other poets; sharing ideas, laughs, food, drink and music. The very distinguished poet Gerard Benson (one of the 3 people responsible for Poems on the Underground) led a workshop. We had to think of words linked with hot and cold. The list is my blip. The poem is what I came up with.

Cold Night

Brittle brandy shoulder
Brandy brittle corpse
Lying like a polar bear
Dead drunk, of course

Sleeping on a glacier
Snoring next to me
Though anger's boiling over
It's icy as can be

Turn the heat up, darling
Let's see if we can melt
And find the warmth and passion
That we both once felt
