Wednesday 3 November 2010: The old man is snoring
I've got a load of on-site audio recording to do with a client over the next few days so, on the recommendation of someone who knows a load more about this stuff than me, I scored a Marantz PMD620 today.
It's amazing what happens to technology nowadays, when you leave it alone for a year or two. I still distinctly remember using one of these for the same purpose. What took 8 D-cell batteries and gave you a back problem for fifteen minutes of hissy recording has been reduced to the size and weight of a packet of cigarettes, and records for 45 hours straight at incredible quality.
Bella's been helping me get my decrepit head around it all.
