Sunday Fred Sunset

Whoever said the life of a musician is glamorous never saw the van Fred Eaglesmith tours in. It's a white rusty decrepit thing with a trailerthingie behind it. Because of the time difference between Illinois and us, plus the clocks going back, they were more than a little confused ... and out of gas. They were also late to South Haven where we were waiting in anticipation.
I once waited about three hours for Ryan Adams to show up at an in-store gig, so a 15 minute late start doesn't phase me one bit.
And it was such a great show! Fantastic music & funny banter, with some jokes-at-the expense-of-the-Dutch thrown in. What more can you ask for? Seriously, I think everyone should go see him.

Because it was a matinee show we got out in time for a Lake Michigan sunset as well. The lake was nowhere near as wild and spectacular as last time we were there, but it was still very lovely.
Except for the girl who kept using her flash to shoot the sunset. Really? We assumed it was a point and shoot set to full auto settings but when she came closer we saw it was a dslr. Why would you photograph a sunset with flash? Anyone know?

tWas a good weekend. Can't wait for the next one ;)

As for the photo: I was prepared for extra noise at ISO 1600, but there was SO much. Yikes! I had no idea concert photography would be a bit of a crapshoot even with a dslr. *sniff*
Still, I quite like this one. Well, I like it a lot, regardless of how unsharp it is :)
