Thursday 11 November 2010: Remembrance Day

The kids school has a strong tradition of holding a Remembrance Day Celebration. Today was the first time I have been able to attend. Ryans class set up a cafe and sold yummy sweet stuff. This was the display before it was sold.

It was especially poignant this year because a recent former pupil was killed in Afghanistan serving with the Australian Army. The young woman who played the Last Post was fantastic.

A great day. My wife even won the first prize in the raffle. A brand new barbecue with everything you need, including a meat voucher.

All we need now is the beer.
