House Construction 6

Our builders brought in a crane today to complete the roof structure. They put up all 14 trusses (the transverse supports) for the main part of the roof, probably in less than four hours (I was there only for the last few).

Here is the last truss just being eased into place at the near end. There was some wind, which made the operation potentially quite tricky, but fortunately it was blowing along the truss once it was properly turned and not against the surface. (As always, it's fun to view LARGE.)

Here's the scene just six days ago, as the first trusses went up for the lower part of the roof, with links to previous blips. It's fascinating to watch the rapid progress. The builders expect to have the exterior of the house essentially closed in within a week or so.
