Epilogue

So here we have an old fella, waiting for the bus on Waterloo Bridge, picked out by the faint afternoon sunlight while, in the shade, a younger man gets on with his work.

It's tempting to see symbolism - the older man, leaving duty behind and emerging into the light at the end of his day(s).

But really it was just a compositional gift. Right place, right time, that's all.
