Since 28th July 2010 my journal has been documenting the construction of a wind farm in the Terra Alta region of Catalunya, Spain. We own and live in a Mas (finca) which is on the line of the wind turbines, and will have two of the beasts within 300 metres of our home.

I woke up to a fabulous rainbow, but what actually woke me up was the compacter/thumper machine doing his stuff to the wind turbine site in front of us and making our window vibrate. We thought they'd finished doing that stuff! A load more gravel was delivered and compacted... so something's obviously ruined the original surface, or it was deemed to be just not good enough.

By the way, these turbines are not the ones they're in the process of constructing, but are part of the up and running wind farms (yes, plural) the other side of the main road and away to Corbera, Gandesa and Horta de St Joan.
