Next To The Electric Bridge

The Electric or 'leccy' Bridge in Musselburgh crosses the Esk near the racecourse. The Electric Bridge was a temporary crossing to allow turbines to be taken to the new power station at Cockenzie. Now it is only open on race days.

This footbidge is next to the actual 'leccy bridge'. It provides both a useful short cut and a lesson in how things used to be done. I can't imagine something so straightforward being built today. It was recently repainted and resurfaced but reassuringly the temptation indulge in any silly colouring-in was resisted.
