Thursday 2 December 2010: Doris McCarthy, 1910 - 2010
Doris McCarthy died a week ago today in her 101st year. She was one of Canada's great landscape artists and my wife and I had the privilege of meeting her a few times, once in her home - Fool's Paradise. Doris taught at Central Technical School (High School) in Toronto for 40 years. My wife and I both attended that school but, unfortunately, didn't have her for a teacher. She was a talented artist and a nice lady. She will be missed.
