Confusing the eye

That, after all, is the point of trempe l'oeil. This is a particularly effective piece on Bonnington Road. We were on our late after perambulate around Leith, mainly to visit our favourite deli in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to obtain some coffee beans. They were out of stock. Alf will have to go back in the week.

It's much colder than yesterday in Scotland, as the forecasters forecasted and reporters report, and heaven knows how long we will be stuck with this icy street and pavement cover for. I'd be happy to see it disappear overnight as the novelty of snow has definitely, definitely worn off. The only sour note of the weekend was struck by our distinctly unpleasant neighbours upstairs, who shouty antics at 3.30am kept us awake for about two hours.

I think this is best viewed large.
