Monday 6 December 2010: Not water off a duck's back...

..but rather snow not coming off a pheasant's back. The very heavy fall for a couple of hours this morning just added to the difficulties that all the birds are having. We have several pheasants that come to the bird table in this sort of weather, and two were there this morning, scratching at the snow but building up an accumulation on themselves as well.
