Thursday 9 December 2010: Old farm building Rusnacara
Well, I think the thaw has begun!! Heavy frost and skiddiness this morning but it has warmed up and we did have to wear quite as many layers as usual when we did our daily walk. We had to deliver some leaflets and decided to do so on foot. Our destination was this farm where we were greeted by a friendly dog and I spotted this little collection of buildings. Most farms here are old but many have a new farmhouse usually next to or in the middle of the old and original buildings and this was very typical. I don't know what lay behind the doors but I was particularly struck by the odd little window which had wire meshing across, and the hefty blocks of concrete keeping the corrugated roof in place.
Other than that, Christmas is well under way in the classroom though we have so far resisted getting out the glitter. Once that is out all is lost and you may as well surrender to the full impact of the festive jollity and general giddiness!
