tradition

means a lot in laid back rural Shropshire.

Everyone likes a bit of the traditional at Christmas. I decided it would be good to be a bit different this year and together with a few colleagues we encouraged the Church to get out of it's sanctuary and provide a community nativity and Christmas events on a local farm ... finished of course with the pub.

Everyone was keen. Involve all ages, got everyone on side, sorted out insurance, risk assessment, advertising, costumes etc etc etc ... then people started to flap ... have we got enough insurance, have we done adequate safety instructions, will a cow rampage through the whole thing and trample an OAP to death?

Flippin Elf and Safety. Maybe traditions not so bad after all?
